Patrick Villegas' logo was selected by the Nixon Centennial Celebration Committee as the winner of the concept art logo contest. This logo will serve as the official symbol of the centennial celebration on stationary letterhead, the website, decals, souvenirs, postcards, advertising, posters, parade entries, and all published material related to the centennial. Patrick won a regional contest in January with entries from high schools rated A through 5A. His winning design, showing mascots from five high schools, has been printed on a souvenir T-shirt being worn by students throughout the area. Additional examples of his drawings will be included in the high school yearbook when it is published this fall. Patrick will graduate from Nixon-Smiley High School in May of 2006,
and has plans to pursue a career in commercial art. His patience and dedication
in working with the committee to create this specific logo design has been
a memorable experience for the committee members - his enthusiasm and willingness
to please is an inspiration. We wish him the very best as he continues
to use his talent in ways that bless us all. Thank you, Patrick, for your
art and your kind-hearted nature.
